Towing Issues: towing toyota tercel; front wheel drive, toyota tercel, tow truck driver

Question
I have a 91 toyota tercel.  The tow truck driver towed it with the front wheels on the ground.  The transmission appears to be toast.  Is there a correct method to tow this vehicle with one set of wheels on the ground?

Answer
well it should off been towed with the front wheels lifted or it can be towed with the rear end lifted and the front wheels on a dolly system to prevent damage from happening.

BUT I do have to say that an 18 year old vehicle might have other issues which could of been on the way to happening before it was towed and that just magnified it...

It is hard to really place blame on the tow company without knowing more about the reason for the tow. Why was it towed, what was the problem, how far was it towed. Things like that all can affect the outcome and the answer.

Now if the vehicle was an automatic transmission it has a limit of 0 for Zero miles towed...

An manual transmission has limits of 30 MPH for 50 miles it says (but I do not believe that)
