Towing Issues: towing, vehicle lien, time frames

how long do they have to keep your car before auctioning it off to the public? what if your car got towed cause you were in jail for 2 months and the place it was parked at had it towed for sitting there too long...and by the time you get out (not knowing your car has even been towed) they have already auctioned off your vehicle...is that legal?? what is the standard hold time?

Well this question is one that I can not answer with specific answers...

It sounds as if what happened is legal in most every place... There are a few exceptions as each state has specific time frames on vehicle lien processes. Some can be sold in as little as 15 days from towing and some take up to 60 days to sell..

If I had an idea of which state law to look up then I could help more.
