Towing Issues: My car yanked in my driveway to get to vehicle in front of it, tow driver, target

Question

towed in park
I live in Texas. At 3:00 I was awakened by commotion in my driveway. When I went outside I found a repo man in my driveway hooking up to my daughters vehicle. The problem is that my car was parked behind hers and the tow driver had first hooked up my car and yanked it back out of the way so he could get to the car in front. My car was in park and was dragged leaving skid marks on my drive way. If he had of knocked on the door I would have gladly moved my car. The fact that he could hook up to my car which I feel he had absolutely no right to do and drag it taking tread off my $600 Michelins and possibly damaging my transmission is incredible. Please tell me if the tow driver is allowed to hook up and drag a car while in park that they have no right to touch! Photos of skid marks attached.

Answer
I have been trying to find and understand the Texas laws on repos which is not really my area of expertise on here...

There has been nothing I can find that says they either "CAN OR CAN NOT" move a vehicle to get to another one. I see that they can not open closed gates or garage doors and such..

There is a lot of reference to "breach the peace" and I can not find out exactly what all is covered in that terminology.

Now you are correct in saying that the chances of damaging your car is increased but it might take some time for some of the damages to show up.  It does look like some of the sliding is done in dirt or wet ground which (I know this does not help) does make it SLIDE MORE than drag.

I would suggest you call the repo outfit(or another one) and ask them a few questions about moving vehicles to get to the one that is the target. See what they say about it. You might get the answers you are looking for that way...

Again I am sorry that I do not have the answers for you.
