Towing Issues: how long to get a lost title, tow company, lien laws

I'm in Florida and on 12/10/08 I bought a $500. truck from a local tow co. and they told me they should have a title for me by the end of the month (the truck had been abandoned and towed). I still don't have a title. How long does it take to get another title? Thank you.

Do you have the vehicle in your possession now ???

The lack of paperwork can bite you in the behind if you have the vehicle.

Keep on the tow company and if they do not want to solve this issue, you should ask for the money back.
DMV usually provides the paperwork after all the state offices do their things...

Now if the vehicle was abandoned there might be a problem with a possible police hold. That is just one of the many problems that might be hanging this up.

Florida lien laws do work but it gets to be a big headache as with another other state and the lien process.
