Towing Issues: handicapped-towing, handicap parking spaces, handicap parking space

Question
Orlando Florida, retail area, not enough handicapped parking spaces at one business so parked at next business in handicapped parking,at 1:47 a.m. business closed. Can towing company tow me since there was not enough handicapped parking spaces and I parked after hours in a handicapped parking spot of another business. Handicapped decal was in view, hanging on rearview mirror like I was suppose to. Do you know how I can find out what the law is with this?

Answer
If the handicap parking space was reserved or exclusive for the business that was closed then the vehicle had no right being parked there. Another view is you didn't have a business purpose with the business that was closed therefore there was no reason for your vehicle being parked there. If you are trying to dispute that there isn't enough handicap parking spaces for the business you were at then you need to check with planning and zoning in that city. Then what are you accomplishing by doing that? This still doesn't allow or authorize your vehicle being parking in a neighboring parking lot that is parking enforced regardless of handicap. Many businesses have very strict parking enforcement on their properties and some have very valid reasons, it is unfortunate that your vehicle was towed.
