Towing Issues: ticket without a standing sign, handicap sign, rainy night

Can you be ticketed for parking in a handicap space when there is no standing sign. I backed in a space on a rainy night not knowing it was a handicap space, the sign was on the ground, is there a law stating that a sign must be posted 6(six)feet high at the parking space.

I don't know the specific laws where you're at. I would think that the space must be clearly posted.

I don't think you'll be able to get your money back. You could research the local code, which should be on every handicap sign, aand try to find out who you can report it to
