Nissan Repair: about my nissan brakes, rear caliper, vacuum line

Question
I have brand new rotors and calapers and I have bled the brakes and I still dont have any brakes what do I do

Answer
Jay,

If the pedal goes to the floor the master cylinder is out.  If you replaced the calipers and did not bleed them you would have no brakes either.  Now, what you need to do is make sure that you get Ford high Performance Brake Fluid, three cans and fill up the master cylinder and have someone press on the brake pedal and then open the valve at the right rear caliper and close it before the fluid stops coming out.  Get a vacuum line and put it on the end of the bleeder and use a bottle to hold the fluid that comes out.  Bleed this one until there is no more air coming out and then go the driver side back and do the same.  Make sure to keep fluid in the master cylinder as it will go down quickly and if it runs out you have to start over.  Now the driver side will be much quicker as you have bled the air out of the line up to the tee at the rear.  When this side is done go to the front passenger side adn do the same thing and then do the driver side front last.  Do not press the brake pedal all the way to the floor as it will damage the seals in it since the pedal has not went down that far in years.  Need more help?  Email me back.
