Towing Issues: key didnt work after car towed, daly city ca, tow companies

y car was towed and impounded.  When I picked up my car the engine turned over fine but wouldnt start.  I immediately knew the problem. My infinity has a chip in the key that wont allow it to ignite if not programmed. They conveintly have a locksmith who comes by every day to fix problems such as this for $100.  After dealing with tow companys over the past 18 years, there is no doubt in my mind that the industry is infested with corruption. I believe they deprogrammed my key.  What can you tell me about corruption in general in the tow industry and what can you tell me about my specific case and how to resolve it given that this tow company is in bed with the Daly City, Ca police department.

Burke, I really have an idea that you do not like tow companies at all..

First of all I am assuming that your vehicle was towed by orders of the police department and that you left the key with the vehicle...

If that is the case then I am not sure how you would "deprogram" a key.  But then there are things which I do not do or know about even with 30 years of towing... I would imagine that there is some way to do that...

But if you also had the vehicle impounded for parking illegally in a lot and the tow company did not have the keys at all, how would they get your key and deprogram it ?

Now I have to also say that given all these "anti theft" devices and such which are in cars now, how towing affects them...

Corruption in general in the towing industry ???
