Towing Issues: illegal parking, apt management, illegal parking

Question
I live in an apartment complex and i was parked behind another car that i own.Ive been parking that way for 2 years and the apt. management doesnt have a problem.I had to pay $183 to get my vehicle out.Can a tow company do that i live in SAN Antonio TX.

Answer
Only if requested by the apartment complex owner or manager. Or by the order of law enforcement if it was blocking the way for a fire truck or emergency vehicle to get by.

Go to your landlord, get them to write a letter saying they did not ask for the vehicle to be towed and you have had their permission to do so for the past few years. Then go to www.municode.com look under library, click on TX then your county & city towing regulations.

Fax it to the towing company asking when you can pick up your refund. Be sure to add on what ever amount you had to pay to get to their lot. (By a taxi or if a friend charged you) Include that with your tow bill.

Since we only to by the request of law enforcement or the owner of a vehicle, I'm not sure what reason they may give you for towing your car away... Perhaps the complex changed towing companies or the same company hired a new driver in your area.

Best of luck to you, let me know how it turns out or if I can help you in any other way.
