Towing Issues: Private Property Parking Rights, unlicensed vehicles, legal letters

Question
I am a tenant at a building with 6 units and 3 free parking spaces. The spaces
are not individually assigned to tenants. I have been parking there for a year and
my car was towed away by the landlord without notice. It is currently
unregistered as I have been in the process of trying to sell it. It was being used
until 2 months ago. I'm in Pennsylvania. What are my rights? Thank you.

Answer
Well you have encountered the basic and typical issue which affects apartments - condos...

Most everyone has a provision in the rental agreement - lease which deals with parking regulations. And the most common one is "unlicensed vehicles" being towed due to expired tags.

Property owners - managers and landlords do have the rights and authority to have vehicles removed and be biggest issue at times is notices... It can be as simple as a note on the vehicle (most common) or legal letters (seldom required) or authority and approval from the local police departments. Each State and or City does have laws which affect it.

Pennsylvania does have some laws which are "city specific" and I can not give specific answers on the "notice issue" or sign requirements...

But it does sound legal to me, but then I am not there and can not see the property or notices.

Sorry, I hope this helps though.
