Towing Issues: help, information phone numbers, tow bar

hi my name is joann and my friends are driving with me to albaquerque new mexico from indiana and they r using an abar to tow my vehicle is this legal to do through the states to get my car there?

That is a tough question, not knowing what kind if tow bar it is.

As long as it is not home-made, and is attached to a correctly weight rated trailer hitch, I would think it is legal. Otherwise, I would look for manufacturer information(phone numbers), and other data on the tow bar to be sure everything is correctly weight rated.
