Towing Issues: Legal tow or not?, tow company, mechanical defects

Question
I live in Mesa, Arizona and just yesterday my car was towed for expired tags.  Now I know it's a rules violation but what concerns me are two things.  One is that I spoke with the manager 3 days before the vehicle was towed explaining I was going to have it removed from property and if there was a problem.  He stated that there would not be and even notified the person doing the parking violations. 2nd is according to Arizona law a two company can only two a vehicle from private property with the owners written consent and my closing docks state that parking space is "Owned" by me, not assigned.  Does the towing company have the legal right to tow the vehicle in this instance?  Also note it was in my assigned spot with a valid parking sticker clearly displayed in the window and no mechanical defects, visible or not.

Answer
Scott,

In oregon it is common for a tow company to tow a vehicle for expired tags, but only with the permission from the management. The tow company may be authorized to patrol the lot and tow without notifying the management for each specific car, though. The manager probably neglected to notify the tower that you had come to them to discuss the matter. On private property it is legal to have a vehicle towed for just about any reason.
