Towing Issues: illegal towing, storage fees, small claim court

My friend parked his car in an apartment complex and they put a sticker on his winshield saying that they were going to tow his car in 3 or 4 days. Less than 12 hours later before I could go move the car they had already towed the car. Now they want about $1000 to get the car out. Do i really have to pay these charges?

Ah, lets see,  your friend parked the vehicle and it got towed...

As the vehicle owner, they are responsible for any and all towing and storage fees... Yes it can get up there in price very quick.

Now as to the time frame in between the sticker and the tow, I think there is more to this than what is listed here.   12 hours, well that might be wrong but I do not know as I am not there and can not see everything.

As to paying, well if they or you want the vehicle then  yes you have to pay unless you can go to court and win the case and prove it is an illegal tow...

Since you did not mention what State or City it happened in, I can not provide you "SPECIFIC INFORMATION" on what to do...

But remember you have the small claim court route as an option.
