Towing Issues: Where to find Car dollies or carriers for 5K lb load, car dollies, odyssey van

My buddy wanted to borrow my truck to tow his Odyssey van that broke down some 300 miles away and did not want to pay the high towing prices for a commercial tow.  However, the specs on the Odyssey say it weighs about 4500 lbs.  I can't find a dolly or carrier in So Cal that has that much capacity.  Is he out of luck or are there rentals out there that can handle this load?

I did a quick U-Haul search using my pickup as the tow vehicle and they will not allow the Odyssey to be towed on a carrier or dolly... Remember that they own the equipment and want to keep it in great shape and rentable, so they make the rules on their stuff.

I am not sure if Budget or Penske would be any different...  But you might also check other local rental yards and see what the suggest on this problem. Or do you know anyone with an RV who has a tow dolly of their own ? that might work but remember it is a heavy vehicle to start with so that is going to be the problem ...
