Towing Issues: tow truck driver in the neighborhood, tow truck drivers, tow truck driver

Question
Hello,
I live in a rural area of Florida in which I own a house and five acres of land. The dirt road on which I live is shared by six neighbors. One of these neighbors drives a very large tow truck for a company. My question is what rights do I have concerning the noise at all hours of the night and severe damage to the road that this man and tow truck has caused. The road is maintained by the county and I've had them out to grade and fill a few times. The problem comes right back after a rain and his driving constantly very fast as well. Please advise on what I can do.

Answer
Bonnie, I hate to say it, but this sounds like a problem in which not much can be done...

I live in Alabama and take home a tow truck which is 35 + feet long and weighs over 35,000 pounds and tows semis...

Now there are sometimes local zoning ordinances which do prohibits certain sized vehicles from parking in residential areas, and while this might be what you are looking for to solve the problem it generally does not help much... Reason I say this is, that a lot of them are "Weight based" and funny as it sounds sometimes 1 ton pickups and RV's end up being allowed  from parking on property that the person owns..

And as agreed at times in court and sometimes won by tow truck drivers, they are also considered emergency vehicles and as such are on call for police departments at all hours of the day...
I have seen this one issue go both ways at times.

Other than what I have suggested  you will not likely find much of an answer.
