Towing Issues: Illegal Tow: my car was towed from my driveway, chicago suburb, time hand

I live in a Chicago suburb. My car was towed when I was away at work from my driveway. Apparently, a neighbor had reported the alarm going off. A police officer came by and requested the vehicle to be towed.

Is this legal? Shouldn't I be given a ticket or some other notice first?

WOW these is a first one on me. Perhaps someone was going to steal your vehicle. No one even tried to call you... Good thing you home alarm didn't go off!!  Check with the home owners assoc. this seems to fall under them. If nothing is there, then look up your local towing laws.

In the mean time, hand out your cell or works numbers to all you so kind neighbors!! Bum Rap here....
