Towing Issues: towing my car, eaton ohio, street sweepers

Question
i parked my car on a public street in eaton, ohio, after running out of gas in the middle of the street. the police department is telling me that they will have it towed if i dont move it by thursday evening, or they will tow it friday morning. its only been parked there for a week at maximum. it has registered, current plates. can they do that?

Answer
Yes they may. They are giving you time to put gas in the car and move it. Check the local towing rules. EX: Ithaca, NY every other day you have to park on the other side of the road, this is for snow removal and for street sweepers to get by.
You'll be much better off to get a gas can, put a couple of gallons in it and move it. A 'public' road should be clear for ALL the public to use.
