Towing Issues: towing, chevy trailblazer, drive shaft

Question
I am planning on towing a 02 chevy trailblazer ls behind a uhaul 17', would it be best for me to use a dolly?  If the dolly is the way to go would all I have to do is remove to drive shaft from the rear?  Does this add mileage to the odometer even if the drive shaft is not connected?

Answer
First of all, U Haul has limits on what kind and size of vehicles are to be towed behind their vehicles. You might check to make sure that the "17 footer" can tow that vehicle safely..

Now if you do tow it behind anything and it is on the dolly and the driveline is removed - disconnected then usually the mileage will not add up on the vehicle...

BUT some vehicles now are not reading the mileage from the transmission but from one of the wheels... If they had that on your vehicle then you would get increased mileage...

Trailblazers do not do that as far as I know unless they made a change that I do not know of.
