Towing Issues: illegal tow?, mechanics lien, tow company

i had my vehicle towed from my friends house. I was workin on his vehicle,left mine @his house in the garage with the door down and left the keys in case he needed to move it. He drove it broke it and had someone fix it.Paid with a bad check tow company came to house and took car out of garage and now i cant get it back until i pay the bad check off. what do i do???

Well a bad check will usually mean a "mechanics lien" is filed against the vehicle.  Unfortunately that means they hold it till they get the money owed from someone.

Now you can go after the friend who wrote the "hot check" as that is against the law.  

It also sounds like that is not a real true friend if he is not helping with resolving this issue...
