Towing Issues: Boston Tow Damages, mazda 626, tow company

Question
I had no problems with my 98 mazda 626 until it was towed. I picked it up immediately noticed how hard&loud it was running. It was quiet before. My first instinct was to take it to the mechanic to see what the problem was and soon realized that it was running too loud & hard to drive.I called the Tow company and they said to file a claim. It ended up being a broken pipe that runs to the engine(??) $500 I dont have any proof (witness, pictures) that the damages was caused by the towing even though its evident. Are they obligated to repair the damages?

Answer
OK, I am lost here as how you have determined that towing the vehicle caused the exhaust pipe (guess that is what you are talking about) to be damaged..

Lets see, the Mazda is a Front wheel drive vehicle, most all the time the exhaust pipe is behind the front wheels which is what the vehicle is lifted by...  Now using a flatbed there are chances that some damage can happen to the rear exhaust pipe due to angles while loading...

What was the reason for the tow is something I am wondering.  Do you know what kind of truck was used to do the tow.

Contacting the tow company was a good move and filing a claim is proper procedure..  But also remember that it might be denied that the did the damage.
