Towing Issues: towing with me in the car, tow truck driver, handicap spot

My boyfriend and I were in my apartment when i heard a tow truck, my boyfriend had parked in the handicap spot and forgot to put up his sign. anyway the tow truck driver was backing up to his truck to tow it and my boyfriend jumped inside before he even got all the way backed up anyway he had his truck started and was telling him he had a sign and he would move his truck the guy backed up and locked on with him in his truck with it started! Is that legal?

each and every year there are people who get injured or killed trying to stop the towing of vehicles...  Jumping into the vehicle is very dangerous as there are some tow trucks which can hook up the vehicle and be moving again in less then 15 seconds...

With that being said, unfortunately you did not mention the state or City which means I can not check to see if the tow truck can only charge if they are hooked up to the vehicle or if they have to be actually in motion or off the property to charge..

It does sound like that might of been the reason for what happened..   So to determine if it is legal or not I can not tell you with the information provided.
