Can I tow my 81 Toyota truck with standard transmisson in neutral without disconecting the drive shaft?

well the older vehicles transmissions are more forgiving than the new ones...

But how far you going, what are you doing to tow it with, dolly - tow bar...

Also prior maintenance of the vehicle might have something to be considered... I would make sure that the fluid levels are all full before you try to tow it ...

But I can not give you a solid answer with out a few more factors filling in... I think you can see the variables which you should be concerned with.
