Towing Issues: Towing with a 2007 Ford Ranger, max payload, gross vehicle weight

Question
I was wondering what amount I could tow with my truck.  I will be putting a Class III hitch on my 2007 Ranger pickup.  I have a manual transmission, a 3.0 liter V-6, 4 wheel drive and a 4.10 rear end.  I want to be able to tow a 3000 lbs travel trailer with a 270 lbs tongue weight.  I have been unable to find out what I can tow because the owners manual does not say what I can tow when I put a Class III hitch on.  If you could assist me with this I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Rick

Answer
" Weights: gross vehicle weight rating (lbs) 5,000, curb weight (lbs) 3,672, gross trailer weight braked (lbs) 3,120 and max payload (lbs) 1,260 "

That is what I found ONLINE during a search..

As to the hitch, I know the rating of the hitch does work on establishing capacity, but it does not increase it beyond the rated capacity of the vehicle..  Hitch leveling systems only help keep the load distributed and the vehicle level..

But as I have say MANY TIMES, I am not a RV towing expert, there are others for that.. I can tell you what we would do if the truck broke down and we had to tow it..
