Towing Issues: towing my jeep, ford explorer sport, jeep wrangler

I have a 1998 ford explorer sport with a six cylinder, manual 5 speed. I also have a 1998 Jeep wrangler. Is my explorer capable of towing my jeep?

I will have to pass on answering this question on the basis of lack of information...

Both vehicles are approximately the same weight and that is not real good for safely towing.. I know several places say 2 times the weight for towing vehicle verses towed weight.  Some say 1 1/2 times  some even say same will do it...

How far are you considering towing the jeep,  cross town, to the ORV park, or cross country several times. Flat ground or over several mountain passes... These all have to be considered in answering this question.
