Towing Issues: Towed infront of MY garage, corner grocer, fire lane

Question
I came home last night to find out I had no where to park at my condo.  All the spots where full. So I did the next best thing and parked in front of my garage. Well needless to say the property management towed my truck. They said I was parked in a fire zone but there was no signs or paint indicating it was a fire zone. In addition there was no note I had to call the police. Should I be held responsible. I live in Phoenix Az. Thank you.

Answer
Well, Firelanes are usually curbs marked with red paint, or lines on the ground...They are also very common (in your case) in front of garages...  But the reason for firelanes are so fire trucks can pass safely though parking lots, and as such are usually bigger than a normal vehicle in width.. If the area is say 15 feet wide, and the fire lane rules and regulations say a fire lane is 12 feet wide then any vehicle parked would be in violation.. Hope you understand that part... Now I tried to find actual rules on fire lanes but a quick search did not find anything..

Now I guess you did not park in the garage cause its full of stuff, right?

notices to tell you that you are going to be towed, usually are when its something that is like abandoned vehicles or expired tags,  a parking violation is something that does not get much notice (ever been told you are going to have an auto accident before you have it ?)

As to the responsibility, I guess you did park the vehicle, and as such its your responsibility..  I would love to tell you that the paper boy or the corner grocer was responsible, but hard to place the blame somewhere else.
