Towing Issues: Law on CA Apartment Complex Towing, traffic signs, korea japan

Question
Hi, I had recently had my car towed for having my car parked in "no parking / red-zone" area of my apartment complex.  I have read that the approval of the manager/owner of the complex is required prior to towing.  I believe in my case, it was the security officer that authorized my car to be towed. Is this within the rules?  Secondly, I've also read that, "NO Parking / Will be towed if parked" sign must be clearly visible for such enforcement.  In my case, there are no such sign or warning and the closest one is at the very least 100ft away in front of a dumpster. There is an addendum in my lease contract that says that cars parked in "do-not park" area is subject to being towed.  My arguement is, RED does not necessary mean, do not park especially given that there's no sign indicating that cars cannot be parked in this "red" area. Granted that it's common knowledge that red curves in public streets mean no parking, there are still signs near by. I believe the signs are there for a reason... I mean what if the person is color blind???  Would my arguements hold in court of law?

Answer
well you answered your own question..  Yes  red means no parking along with yellow in  most cases.

Signage, well that is one that is rough to answer.  In general there are only required to be signs at the entrances to the complex.  Are there supposed to be signs close to each zone?  well that helps alot, but some people do not beleive signs even if they are posted every 3 feet.

Your question on the person being color blind, is one I love.  Sorry, what if the person is from Germany, Korea, Japan, France, Ireland, Brazil,  Iran, or Fiji...

Should signs be posted in every language there is so that there is no confussion.  What about Speed limit, or traffic signs or even street signs..
Where would it end.

I am sorry bout the tirade, but your thoughs and arguements would not hold in court.
Red is NO or STOP  that is universal.

The security guard can authorize tows if he is a designated agent of the property owner or manager.

Hope this helps
