Towing Issues: property laws in towing, personal belongings, tow operator

San Francisco,Ca. When a car is towed, can you just show proof of ownership and get your stuff out. If it's even still in the vehicle and if you give them the pink slip will you still owe towing and storage charges .?

By law, a tow operator is required to allow you to retrieve personal belongings out of your vehicle. They may require you to come during their regular business hours, though. And yes, they are legally entitled to collect for towing and storage of a vehicle if those services were performed. I hope this helps.
