Towing Issues: Towing a car behind a Motorhome, front wheel drive, four wheels

Question
I just read something on line that said you would probably damage the transmission if you towed a front-wheel drive vehicle 4-down. I see a lot of them being towed that way. I aske one guy about it and he said all he did was put the car in neutral and remove a couple of fuses, he didn't know what the fuses fused.
Is the only way to tow a front-wheel drive on a dolly?

Answer
Ed,

Every car is different.  Almost every Saturn, for example, can be towed four wheels down without modification.  However you have to remove two fuses on some.

Other cars can be towed with the installation of a lube pump to circulate the transmission fluid.

Each vehicle needs to be researched individually.  Check your owner's manual.
