Towing Issues: Honda Civic Towing a 4x8 Uhaul trailer, honda civic, standard transmission

I was hoping you could help me figure out the approximate towing capacity of a 1998 Honda Civic (standard transmission). More specifically, will it be able to tow a 4'x8' Uhaul trailer from Washington, DC to Seattle, WA?

It depends entirely on what you put in the trailer.  I wouldn't want to tow more than 1000lbs with a Honda Civic, but in most states you can probably get away with up to 2,000 lbs.  That said, you probably won't be able to put much in a 4x8 Uhaul trailer and keep it under even 2,000 lbs.
