Question -
The truck rental companies say that I cannot tow a '68 Mustang on a carrier (car completly on carrier - no wheels on the ground).

What are my options for towing?

Answer -
well  I have to say that U Haul, Budget and all the other rental companies make there own rules up as to what you can and can not do with their equipment.

But a 68 mustang ? come on now, that car weighs less than most of the ones now..

I do not know what they said, but what was your pull / tow vehicle going to be.. I know that in some cases U Haul will not rent trailers to haul vehicles if you do not have a big truck or one of their big rentals..They have lots of conditions on your tow vehicle also as to its weight and if its a hard top SUV or not.

It could be that the case..

Did you try this online with their system or were you actually at a dealer..

Answer
Kris  I really do not know what to say.  They have there rules and policies.

The only other question I have is what are you going to tow the carrier with, and how far is it going...

If you are moving, I know that moving companies also do move cars and there are some auto transport services that offer that service also.  Both are going to be expensive, but then so would you buying your own trailer to transport the vehicle.

For a basic research answer to this, I went to U Haul online, and tried this with my own pickup and online says it can be done with my truck..
Or is this a show car or something that they do not want the liability of having it on their equipment (possibility of damage to vehicle ) ?
