Towing Issues: Towing a convertible, most newer cars, older cars

Question
Can you tow a convertible behind a regular Wrecker, or does it need to be on a flat bed. I was told if you tow a convertible it will mess up the fitting of the top. Is this true?

Thanks,

Answer
Thanks for the question. It really should'nt matter depending on the make of the car. If your concerned you could put the top up durning the tow. Most newer cars don't
have a frame like the older cars. The newer cars (90s) are
all recommended to either be flat bedded or wheel lifted
only. Most all newer towing equipment is wheel lift equiped
for that reason. I hope this answers some of your concerns.
