Towing Issues: vehicle weight, latch pin, chevy suburban

Question
I have a chevy suburban "85" 4x4 and I was wondering the approx weight of it. I droped my trans and need it towed. A friend has a trailer rated to 45'000 lbs and we are woundering if we could us it. For obvious reasons it would be cheaper. I thank you for you time and knowledge.

Answer
Thank you for the question, and sorry for taking so long.
You should not have any problem with a trailer of that
weight rating. Your chevy weights about 1/2 ton which is
about 5000lbs. The weight should be printed on the drivers
door stop just below the latch pin, along with the vin#
and other identifing information. Remember! the hardest
part about towing something is stopping. Again I am sorry
for not getting back to you sooner. Good Luck
