Toyota Repair: brakes material

Question

my car   I have bought recently  a toyota rav4 1998, manual, 2.0lt. It was imported from Japan to my country in 2002. I am concerned about the materials the brakes are made. Especially the rear ones. Do they contain asbestos? If yes what options do I have to convert them?

Hello, in the US manufacturers stopped using asbestos in brakes over 20 years ago so did as well as most car makers that imported cars to the US, so I really don't know if this car used asbestos or not since it was not intended for use in the US, my best guess is that the brakes contain no asbestos  regardless.
