Tires: Replacement Tires, r15 tires, 2002 toyota camry

Question
I am replacing Continental R206/65 R15 tires on my 2002 Toyota Camry.  These original tires lasted less than 30,000 miles.  The dealer I went to suggested I use B.F. Goodrich Premium Touring tires size R215/65 R15 and would get better handling, ride and traction. He said the larger tire is an optional size on this car. The price of the 2 sizes are very similar.  Is what the dealer is saying accurate and would I better off wiht the slightly larger size.  This tire has a 70,000 mile warranty.  Comparing tires is very difficult.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks

Mike

Answer
Hi Mike

First off they don't make a tire with the size of R206/65 if that is what you are asking,Yeah you could could go to a size bigger then what it come out with the 2 factors you will have to look at it that size the recommended if it will effect the speedometer ?And also a bigger size for that car makes your car proned to dirt and it will stay dirty since it is filling in the gap in the fenders .

Most car makes dont put on good tire when when you buy the car brandnew unless you have the car made the way you wanted and certain tire brand or they will throw on cheap tires see it all the time when i recommend a tire or replacing them for someone. If it was my car i would stay with the orginal size half of the tire sizes as they get bigger get more expensive depending what you buy.
