Toyota Repair: Maintenance light

Hi Ted,

On my 2012 Camry XLE 4 cylinder with 26K miles, the Maintenance Record orange light flashes 8 times after starting the car, then goes out.

Is it trying to tell me that a scheduled maintenance is close at hand or tell me something else?

How do I turn it off?

This is not a sign of trouble, it's just a maintenance reminder:
Turn the key/ignition ON
set the trip reset meter to read 'trip A'
Hold the reset button in and turn the key off and back on
The light will flash and /or the odometer display will display dotted lines
When this stops release the key
