Toyota Repair: Corolla 2007 noise

Hello Ted,

Our Corolla 2007 makes a noise after it starts. I'm puzzled b/c it's got only 52K miles in 7 years. It's very well maintained, and it's kept inside the garage overnight. When it starts in the morning it makes this noise for a while. I think that later on, the noise goes away but I'm not sure about that b/c my wife drives it.

I have a small audio file with the recording of the sound, but this page only accepts images. Is there another way to send it to you?

A common noise on these engines comes from the drive belt tensioner, when it gets weak it can start to make a knocking/ rattle type noise, replacing the belt and the tensioner should solve this problem, if you feel that this is not the case you can try my email address to upload the audio file
