Cadillac Repair: car problem, cadillac fleetwood, pvc cap

i have a 91 cadillac fleetwood bougham,and it was running bad repl plugs,wires,pvc,cap and button and now when i put it in gear it trys to cut off sometimes it dose but out of gear it runs ok.can u give me some kind of idea as to what it my be

Hi Horace, Providing all the parts you replaced were good and you installed ac delco plugs I would recommend that a scan tool be hooked up and look at the data the computor is seeing. A bad oxygen sensor, map sensor, weak fuel pressure or bad regulator or bad idle control motor might be the cause but without testing the differant parts this could get expensive in a hurry. What I would suggest is taking it to a shop you trust and have them diagnose the problem. Then you can decide if you want to replace the part(s) or have them do the work. Driveability problems are an area that alot of things can cause the same symptom but only through testing and eliminating things can the problem be fixed. You did the simple stuff. Now its time to let a pro take a look. Bill
