Toyota Repair: check engine light & vsc trac light on, mileage limit, toyota dealer

i have a 2005 rav4 with 178790 miles on it and my check engine & vsc trac light come on. the code comes up 0420 something about emission?

That sounds like it's a catalityc converter malfunction, the check engine light will trigger the other lights, most likely there is nothing wrong with them. Toyota has some recalls on cataltyc converters and/or ECM reprogramming, there is no time or mileage limit if the recall applies, contact the toyota dealer with your vehicle information and they can tell you if the special service campaign applies.
