Toyota Repair: Toyota camry 2005 LE, toyota camry 2005, toyota camry

Question
Hello,

I have a toyota camry 2005 LE with 83500 miles on it. Of recent i have noticed that while i turn the steering, especially to the extreme, i hear a clicking noise that comes. What could this problem be? could it be a problem with the steering shaft? How much would it cost me to get it fixed(parts+labor). Thank you for your advice.

Answer
Yes it's most likely the steering shaft, toyota has issued a service bulletin or two, there are updated parts available, on some models the shaft can be removed and lubricated it depends on the VIN#, if the shaft has to be replaced it would run about $350-400 at the dealer.
