Toyota Repair: 4 Runner running problem, fuel pressure regulator, solus scanner

QUESTION: I have a 93 4Runner with 3L A/T,4x4.A/C that I bought with a bad motor.I bought a JDM engine/trans and installed them both.Installed new fuel pump and battery.Thing runs fine when cold,the farther you drive the worse it looses power until you want even move.How do you ck fuel pressure,I didn't see a port to hook up gauge.What should I look for first.Also NO CODES in ECM.I have a Solus scanner.

ANSWER: Check and replace the fuel filter if needed, it's located on the inside of the frame directly under the passenger door.

QUESTION: I replaced it with fuel pump.The kicker is if you turn key off a couple a seconds(put in N,cut it off and restart)it runs fine again for a while.

You may want to consider a partially restricted catalityc converter or a fuel pressure regulator issue, the regulator is located at the front end of the left fuel rail and has a vacuum line on it, another test you can do is to pinch off the fuel return line at the right rear of the engine, it goes back to the fuel tank, by pinching this line no fuel is returned to the tank, it may run rich but if there is an improvement of the power loss then I would suspect a bad fuel pressure regulator.
