Toyota Repair: carb, float bowl, corrolla

i have a 88 corrolla with a 4af motor new fuel pump but it will only run if you dump gas in the carb you cant see gas in the sight glass i know carbs but i dont know if it could be one of the selenoids and i dont know how to test them ihave a multi meter, there is gas going to the carb but i dont want to tear it apart if it could just be a selinoid thanks ken

There is no fuel getting into the carburetor, the top of the carburetor needs to be removed and the float and inlet needle valve checked, it's possible that the float is stuck all the way up and won't let any fuel into the float bowl or the needle valve is stuck closed.
