Toyota Repair: fuel, 4x4 toyota, jumper wire

Question
Hi ted I have a 1992 4x4 toyota p/u. I was going out of my driveway and the engine just quit. It will spin over but wont crank. I checked the fuel pump in the tank and I do not have any fire going to it. But i put a hot wire to the pump and it will pump. What do you think the problem might be? The engine will also surge up and down with you when you run it a while when you come to a stop. What could this be also?

Answer
Locate the diagnostic check connector under the hood and put a jumper wire between the terminals B+ and FP, this will bypass the relays, if the wiring is ok the engine should start, let me know if it does. Use a testlight and make sure there is battery voltage at B+.
