Toyota Repair: 2000 Land Cruiser/New vs. refurb starter, reman, land cruiser

Is there any reason to prefer a new starter to a refurb for a 2000 Land Cruiser?

Reliability is one factor, Toyota usually sells remanufactured starter which are as good as new and come with a one year warranty. I would be cautious with aftermarket new or rebuilt starters, usually they cost as much or more than toyota reman units, this starter is located under the intake manifold and there is a lot of work involved to replace it.
