Toyota Repair: Camry Wire to Identify, side kick panel, toyota camry

Question
Hi,

I have a '96 Toyota Camry 4 cyl (LE, 2.2l I believe)

There is a thin yellow wire with grey mark dots in the LH Drivers Side Kick panel that I found corroded at the pin/ connecting point and not attached to anything.

I looked at the closest harness and there is corrosion in one area. I then looked at the other side when the two sockets connect, and it seems that there is no wire behind that location at all. There is what seems to be a toyota installed alarm module box with an adjustment screw that has the same yellow wire and grey mark. They alarm chirp works once in a while.

Sorry for the long winded email.

So the question is what is this wire please, and how do I fix it?

Thank you.

Respectfully,

Jerry

Answer
Toyota didn't install alarm systems in 1996 so this must be an aftermarket system, if there is nothing else in the car that does not work then this wire is most likely for the alarm system, you should have an auto alrm shop check into this and either repair this one, remove it and/or install a newer system.
