Toyota Repair: 1992 Camry Sunroof, minimal degree, sunroof

Question
Hi,

The sunroof on my 92 camry is stuck in the almost fully closed position. It hasn't lifted to seal the opening. I can tell that the buttons still have power and function to a very minimal degree as there is a small amount of movement and the electrical grunt when you hit the button. I think something is loose / jammed in there and no idea how to open it up and see whats wrong.

Answer
In most cases this is either because the sunroof motor is stuck or the cables are broken, you can drop the motor down by removing any overhead console then remove the 10mm bolts that attach it, then see if the sunroof can be manually pushed open and closed, the cables are enclosed in tubes so they are hard to inspect except for at the place where the motor attaches.
