Toyota Repair: Drive axles, drive axles, wheel hub

Question
I am working on a 89'Toyota Camry 2000 16valve EFI auto Trans.
I'm having a heck of a time getting the left drive axle out,I have the wheel hub off the car and the strut is hanging out of the way,now I'm stuck the axle wont come out even when I pry on the axle like the pictures show and my shop manual doesn't show this trany or this type of axles for the automatic Trans plz help thank you.

The only way the axle will come out is by prying with two large prybars using even pressure on both sides and rotating the axle around until the snap ring on the end of the axles collapses enough to let the axle come out. There is nothing else holding it in.
