Toyota Repair: 1998 Camry Air Control Switch, control knobs, air vent

Question
Hi there.  The air vent control switch doesn't change the air to the defrost nor blow air to the feet any longer.  It does blow out of the side and middle vents.  I've looked up under the carpet at the floorboard side on the driver side and see a white piece of plastic that I think is supposed to move when the switch is turned.  I've not a clue how to remove the console or dash section to get to anything to fix this but I'm game for figuring it out with help!  Thanks.

Answer
Check the cables coming from the dash control knobs, there should be a cable attached to the white lever, this directs the airflow, the cable may have just come off or may be it broke off, if it came off move the control lever all the way to the left and push the control lever all the way back and reattach the cable make sure the retaining clip holds the cable housing in place.
