Toyota Repair: Car battery if left idle - when to disconnect battery?, mazda 2, computer memory

Question
When the car is left idle, for example you are going for a vacation.  My car is actually a Mazda 2, has a non-sealed low maintenence type of battery.  I bought the car new, 6 months ago.  From when should I consider disconnecting the car's battery?  For example, if intending to leave it idle for a maximum 4 days and more, or 10 days and more, whatever....can you help please?

Answer
Most cars today have a small draw on the battery due to computer memory, alarm system etc. it normally would take about 3-4 weeks for the battery to draw down to being discharged depending on the health of the battery. I would disconnect if leaving for more than that time period. If the battery goes dead within a week or so then there is a problem with either the battery or a component that is drawing too much idle current.
