Toyota Repair: 99 caldina turbo, vcs and engine light, designation number, scantool

My car is a 99 caldina turbo and its automatic with tiptronic. The vsc and engine light ic coming on and it also does not engage 4th gear when in drive or tiptronic. What can be the cause of this?

You will have to have the trouble codes retrieved using a diagnostic scantool that can access check engine light, the other lights usually turn on because of the check engine light and should go off after the check engine light is corrected, any repair shop, toyota dealer or some autoparts stores can get the code numbers for you then you can reply here. When you reply I will need the engine designation number from the underhood label which I have to try to match since your model was not sold here in the US.
