Toyota Repair: Starting problem -2000 Camry, starter solenoid, batt cable

Question
QUESTION: This has happened twice so far, once after sitting in the driveway and today after being parked for 15 minutes after being driven for a half hour.
The car won't crank, not only that, but there is little to no power in the car. Only the LED for the sec system and it's relay were blinking
It's also messing with the sec seystem.
Today, after removing the + batt cable, when putting it back on, the alarm sounded and it took a bit to get to the remote to shut it off, the car then had power and started.

I'm guessing either the starter, solenoid or both are dying, a previous Camry (without a sec system) had this happen.
Does this sound reasonable?
Thanks

ANSWER: Check the battery first, it sounds like the battery is on it's way out, if in doubt replace the battery especially if it's more than five years old.

QUESTION: I had the battery tested and it's fine. It's only a year old btw

Answer
Does it have an aftermarket alarm system, you can tell by looking at the red LED, is it mounted on the left side in the dash or on a small plastic bracket on the lower left of the dash? If it is then I would recommend removing the entire alarm system, I have seen too many of them cause excessive current draw and other problems.
